How to Start a Routine
- If you are totally new to routines, start by choosing just one time of the day and pick a few things from the list to be a part of your routine.
2. Write down the steps on the appropriate card with your child – or have them write down the steps for themselves.
3. Place the list where kids can see it and/or have them carry it around while they are going thru their routine.
Bonus: Laminate for sturdiness or put in a small plastic frame. We love these restaurant clips, pictured above.
Remember, be patient and consistent-routines take some time to become, well…….a routine!
