Freebies for Smart parenting
I decided to put all my freebies in one place so you can easily access them. Smart Parents are looking for tools like these to help their kiddo in school and at home.
I am a mom to two (now young adult)boys and have been a teacher for 25 plus years. These free resources have been created out of a need for my own kids, my classroom, or BOTH!
Free resources included in this post:
- Math Facts Practice Freebies – 4 different printables and an e-book made especially for kids who struggle to learn their facts(Both of my kids had a hard time, early on)
- Boredom Busters Printables – we all need some ideas to keep our kids busy and off screens, from time to time.
- Activity Advent Ideas List – Ideas for the whole month and more! Make some fun family memories with these activities whether you have an advent calendar or not.
- Screenfree Activities List – A ton of ideas to keep your kids busy and happy and learning without a screen in sight.
- Habit Trackers for kids – Fun way to get kids exceited about forming new habits. Great for parents, too.
- Routine Cards – We know how great routines are for kids. These cards help kids be more independent by giving them a short list to follow – less nagging from you.
I created these for my own kids and family out of a need and have found them to be helpful for MANY or should I say, most kids and families. I see kids struggle in school and want to help. I work with kids all year to help them gain independence through routines and rhythm.and following thru with routines.
Math Facts Practice Freebies
- Many kids have a hard time memorizing their math facts and need lots of varied practice. Make a routine out of it by spending 10 mionutes a day practicing facst.
- Use a varitey of their senses engage a variety of their senses while practicing – visually, speak the facts and write them.
Multiplication/Addition Charts
These are simple addition and multiplication charts that can be used a variety of ways.
- Practice filling in and talk about patterns they see (math, after all is all about patterns)
- Fill out some of the answers for them to give them a head start and make it not so overwhelming.
- Time them, for say 5 minutes to see how much they can fill out.
- Give them the challenge of only filling out the odd (or even) answers.
- Draw around boxes you want them to fill in.(See above)
- Fill it out, yourself with mistakes and see if your kids can find your errors.
Flash Card Hacks E-book
I created this Flash Card Hacks E-Book when my kids were struggling to learn their facts. Both of them have issues with short term memory which makes it especially hard to memorize things.
These hacks use flash cards in a different way to build an understanding of numbers first and foremost and then it makes it easier for them to “remember” their facts.

Math Facts Flowers Printables
These simple printables allow kids to practice their facts for any operation. Simply fill in the center with the operation and a single number. Fill in the next level with random single digit numbers.

Math Facts Word Search for 2,3 and 4
Kids usually love word searches – and this is a mathematical take on them. Kids search thru the number boards to find correct multiplication facts for 2’s, 3’s and 4’s. Once they find them, they record them below the grid for extra practice.

Developing Good Habits and Routines
habit Trackers for kids and their families
We all know it takes at least 30 days to form a habit. Download this fun printable to help your kids (and you!) form some new habits. Kids color in one smiley face when they complete a new habit, like reading for 30 mins or riding their bike instead of taking the bus to school.
We’re not perfectionists – don’t worry about filling one everyday…just keep at it and when all the faces have been colored in, your kids will feel very accomplished! Note to parents: Do this alongside your kids. They would love to be the one reminding you to drink more water….or stop scrolling on Instagram.
Routine Cards for Kids
These cards are invaluable if your kids have a hard time following a routine. Cards are included to help with morning and evening routines – just simply write the steps down so kids can check back to see if they have completed everything or to find out what is next.

Routine Checklist for Kids
This is just another format for kids who need help following a routine. This looks a bit more like a weekly calendar, but it’s great to have your list all on one piece of paper.
