Math Facts Practice Tools

If your kids are bored of paper and pencil math facts practice, we’ve got some great suggestions for some really fun math facts practice tools.

If your kids struggle to learn their facts, these could just be the tactile experience they are looking for to help them memorize their math facts – in all operations.

Math Facts Fidget Spinners

Wait, What? Fidget spinners that are also tools to learn math facts?

Yes! These are the most popular math fact tool in my classroom. Simply spin the outer ring to the fact you want and flip it over to see the answer.

Conveniently 2 operations in one – find the addition and subtraction fidget spinners here. Pictured above are the multiplication and division version.

Hand 2 Mind Math Facts Boards

These lightweight boards get kids using their hands to help them memorize their facts. Offered in both addition and subtraction, kids roll the spinner up reveal the answer.

Perfect for the car or wherever your kids have to wait. Bonus if they talk their way thru their practice, reciting the problem, then the answer before they flip the wheel to reveal the answer.

Addition/Multiplication Pop Fidget Board

Taking advantage of a current trend, this popp board has an addition table on one side and a multiplication board on the other. Inspired by a Montessori finger chart, this allows kids to use their visual skills to see where the addends (or factors) meet for the answer and pop it up or down as they work thru the problems.

So visually appealing, kids won’t even think they are practicing their math facts. This fun tool to practice math facts comes in Rainbow, like we have or pastel colors, too.

Large Foam Math Dice

Talk about the perfect thing for wiggly kids! These large foam math dice allow kids to get their whole bodies into practicing their math facts. The number dice have 12 sides and can be rolled in different combinations to cover all the operations.

These come with an instructional manual that has lots more ideas for fun games to play to help kids get active while practicing their math facts.

Wrap-Ups

Wraps Ups help kids practice their math facts and improve their fine motor skills, as well. Available in all four operations, kids wrap the string around the plastic key, connecting equations with the answers.

When they are finished, they simply turn over the key to check their answers. Brilliant!

Find all four operations of Wrap-Ups, HERE.

And they even have Wrap-Ups for fractions and geography!

shut the Box

An old timey game from Normandy, Shut The box is an amazing game to learn math facts.

Players take turns rolling 2 dice and then flipping over any numbers that equal that number. For instance, if you roll a 6, you can flip the 1 and 5 or the 2 and 4 or just the 6. Each player continues until they can’t flip any more numbers and their score is the sum of all the numbers left. The dice then goes to the next person.

Decide on how many rounds you want to play and the winner is the one with the lowest score.

Good Ol’ Fashioned Flash Cards

Flash cards can be boring, but not always!!

I’ve got a free downloadable book all about fun ways to use flash cards to help your kids really master their facts.

All you need is a deck of flash cards – any operation will do – and make sure you download my free ebook, “Flash Card Hacks, Easy, Creative Ways to Learn Math Facts”
